World Parrot Refuge
In February of 2016, the founder of the World Parrot Refuge (WPR) in Coombs, BC passed away, leaving behind 600 birds, with no plan.
Dr. McDonald, who has devoted her life to our feathered friends, opened her heart and her hospital to over a hundred of these birds in need of medical care. She also dedicated many of her own personal resources to contribute to their care.
Some of these parrots were housed in Maple Ridge, but by December 11th 2016, they will all have been moved to a location in the Mount Pleasant area. We are looking for volunteers to help care for these birds and, ultimately, forever homes for them to go to.
We need your support. This is considered the biggest animal rescue in Canadian history. If you are able to volunteer your time or would like to adopt, please contact the relevant coordinator listed below:

It will take a village to give these wonderful parrots what they deserve; it’s nothing we can do on our own.
